For this assignment, I engaged with Yazmin Ramos, whose beat is Money and Finance. In one of her recent posts, she covered President Trump’s consideration of giving Americans $2,000 rebate checks connected to tariff costs.

Although her beat focuses on money and finance, it has helped expand my understanding of how economic policy can impact one’s health outcomes. Although the rebate checks themselves would be helpful to Americans, economic changes, whether positive or negative, can directly impact people’s stress levels, their ability to afford healthcare, and their overall well-being. Understanding these financial changes helps me connect how economic conditions shape people’s health daily.
